The Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station is located in the middle of Antarctica, right at the South Pole. Since it’s at the pole it’s not really located in any one time zone. By convention people stationed there use New Zealand time, since all flights to the station pass through there.
However, New Zealand observes daylight savings time! To remain consistent, then, the station at the South Pole does, too.
