What’s Happening, September 2020

I’ve just wrapped up a client engagement, so if you’ve got some Web development work (especially involving Ruby or Rails) that needs doin’—or, more unexpectedly, if you have some interesting compiler or computational biology problems---get in touch!
Jenny and I recently left Colorado and moved up to lovely Vancouver, BC, where we’re currently hunkered down in quarantine. I became a permanent resident of Canada last year, and we’d been planning on moving up this fall in any case, but the ongoing compound crisis in the US definitely gave us a little extra push.
We’re getting a bit restless, to be honest, and definitely looking forward to when we can responsibly travel again. I’m looking forward to a road trip up to the Yukon in the summer of 2021, while Jenny is implausibly optimistically planning some sort of grand tour through Egypt and Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, I’ve been doing a lot of baking, and Jenny’s been getting into making her own keycaps. And now that we’re on a coast again, I’m looking forward to getting back in to SCUBA! Gotta start shopping for a drysuit before too long.
And of course I’m still baking:
Stay safe out there, folks, and take care of yourselves and each other.
